How it works
Biochar as durable carbon removal
When biomass is converted to biochar under controlled conditions and the resulting material is applied or stored so that the carbon remains stable, the process removes carbon from the short-term cycle and locks it into a form that persists for centuries to millennia.
Georgia Wood Char’s production generates both a physical product (biochar for soil, turf, water, or industrial use) and associated carbon removal value that can be formalized as credits under the insured program.
